Top 4 Live Bands of 2019

Posted on April 11, 2020April 14, 2020 by concert traveler

2019 was another amazing year of live shows for me. I attended 44 concerts in 6 states and in a few different cities in Canada. Thinking back to the shows I attended last year, I’ve finally come up with my list of the top 4 bands that I saw live in 2019. Here they are:

4. The Jacks

The Jacks were my most anticipated band to see last year. I had been listening to their music for over a year and for the most part they had been touring on the west coast. I never got to make a trip out there to see them, but in December of 2019, they made their way to the east coast and I was able to catch 2 shows – Buffalo and Pittsburgh. These guys have something really familiar but also something really unique going on at the same time. They have everything to offer sound wise – from straight up rock and roll songs like “Walk Away” & “Understand” , to songs like “Are You Looking For Love” and “Just A Little Bit” that make you dance and jump around. They also have songs that are just completely touching lyrically like “Hello My Friend” & “We Were Only Young”. Finally being able to see them live, it was everything I hoped it would be. These guys are legit – talented musicians and very personable. They will hang around and talk to the fans after their shows and those are the kind of things that really make a difference to the fans. They seem to have just as much of a strong dedication to their fans as their fans do to them.

3. Dead Poet Society

I saw Dead Poet Society open for Badflower in Pittsburgh in November of 2019. I checked out their music before the show and I liked it, but seeing them live made me fall in love with them. I honestly wasn’t expecting to like them as much as I did, but that is why it is so important for me to see bands live. You just never know who the real talent is until you experience it in a live setting. I’ll never forget when they took the stage and began to play. The vocals hit and I instantly got the chills and it was just one of those concert moments that will always stick with me. I was just completely blown away by them.

2. The Blue Stones

I’m not sure how much more I can post and write about these guys and still say something different or unique. I found out about the Blue Stones in February of 2019 when I was checking out shows coming to some of the local venues. The Blue Stones were going to be playing Rec Room in Buffalo for $1. I got my best friend to tag along with me to this show and after the first song they played, she just tapped me on the shoulder and said “OMG these guys are really good. Let me know whenever you are going to go see them. I’m totally down”. I probably saw The Blue Stones the most out of all of the bands that I saw last year and they are still on my radar as one of my favorites.

1. Reignwolf

When it comes down to live performances, Reignwolf would definitely have to be my #1 band for 2019. Reignwolf is a band that you just have to see live to get the full experience. Even if you don’t know their music, you will be a fan by the time the show is over. Their energy is never ending and I don’t know how they do it night after night. When I’ve seen them just 2 nights in a row, I’m completely worn out afterwards. They give it everything they have at every single show. More likely than not they will bring their instruments right down to the floor to jam out with the crowd. These guys are my absolute favorite.

My Top 5 bands in 2018 were:

  • 5. Nothing But Thieves
  • 4. The Glorious Sons
  • 3. Greta Van Fleet
  • 2. Black Pistol Fire
  • 1. Stone Temple Pilots
