September was an amazing month of concerts and road trips. Looking back on the last month, I saw so many of my favorite bands within just a few weeks it has to be some sort of record for me. Between my travels to Nashville and Columbus to see Reignwolf, The Blue Stones, Slothrust and Highly Suspect, that was an epic and unforgettable weekend for me. I got to see Stone Temple Pilots – who I rated as my favorite live band last year – twice, once in Niagara Falls and then in Cleveland. Finally seeing The Parlor Mob for the first time and finally seeing Liily for the first time was great. I also was blown away by some of the opening bands at various shows that I had not heard of before those shows. Simply amazing!
This post is to give a taste of what I’ve been checking out live in the last month.
Reignwolf and The Blue Stones were well worth the 11 hour drive to Nashville as they are still holding the spots of my top 2 favorite bands.
Slothrust and Highly Suspect played together in Columbus the night after the Nashville Reignwolf/Blue Stones show. Seeing all 4 of those bands in one weekend felt too good to be true.
BRKN Love opened the show for Slothrust and Highly Suspect in Columbus and I was completely blown away by them. Listen to those vocals, my God!
Stone Temple Pilots killed in Niagara Falls and Cleveland.
Check out Camp Howard who opened for Stone Temple Pilots in Niagara Falls:
The Rival Sons are another killer rock band that has somehow managed to fly under the radar. They opened the show for STP in Cleveland
I am a huge fan of Ultra Q after seeing them open the show for Bad Suns and Liily in Buffalo
Finally caught a Liily show after following their music for almost a year now:
After what seems like forever, I finally got to see The Parlor Mob for the first time and opening the show was another band I got into from seeing them open a show last year, Deal Casino. Was glad to catch them again:
