I was in Mississauga Ontario today for the filming of The Blue Stones new music video which I was lucky enough to be a part of – post on that coming later!! On my way home I stopped at Boon Burger Cafe in Burlington. It was my first time eating at this location. I was starving as I didn’t get to eat much all day and there were so many different burgers that I was debating between, but then the cashier informed me that it was two for one pizza night and so I just had to try their vegan pizza for the first time. It was some of the best vegan pizza I’ve ever had.
I’ve been interested in trying their pizza before, but I don’t make it out to Boon as much as I’d like since it is over an hour away from home and I have to cross the border into Canada to go there. But luckily tonight I was in the area and the pizza was just meant to be. Couldn’t beat the price on it, about $16 CAD for 2 whole pizzas.
I ordered the Buffalo Chick’n Caesar which came with marinara, cheeze, crumbled chick’n patty basted in frank’s, red onion, fresh romaine & caesar dressing. It was so delicious. I think it was my favorite of the two, but that is a hard choice as I was really impressed with how good the pizza was.
The other pizza that I ordered was the Bacun Cheeze pizza which came with marinara, cheeze, bacun bits, red onion, crumbled boon patty, sesame seeds, fresh shredded lettuce, pickles & bermuda mayo. Vegan pizza can be very hard to pull off because you have to get the vegan cheese part right. It is a hard substitute to make, but Boon really knows how to make a good pizza. I will definitely be back – I may even venture out again on a Wednesday night just to get the 2 for 1 pizzas! I think it is an every Wednesday thing there. For those of you who live in Ontario, Boon has many different locations so make sure to check it out. They also have the best vegan soft serve ice cream ever so make sure to try that as well!
